Topic: Do Video games cause violence?

I believe that this is a pretty big issue in regards that many adults think that this is the cause of school or mass shootings. The reason that I know this is because recently U.S. president Donald Trump said after a mass shooting, “We must stop the glorification of violence in our society. This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace. It is too easy today for troubled youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence.” This statement is a big factor because many citizens in the U.S. believe that video games truly cause the problem. This negatively effects the youth the most, because adults are being deprived of something that lets them interact and take a break from reality. I am not much of a gamer my self but I do empathize with the youth that do play video games. I also do not want more mass shootings in the U.S, but video games are not the problem. Adults believe that the exposure to violence that is being given by video games will affect the developing mind of a young adolescent. It is not fair to have people of different generations judge what my generation can or can’t handle.

Alan is a first year student at Pima Community College and is currently pursuing an Associates degree in science. He is considering transferring to Arizona State University(ASU) to major in Forensic Science and hopes to receive a bachelor's degree. After he finishes school he plans on going into a career in law enforcement where he can apply his skills of science. Even though there is a possibility of him going to ASU; he is a die hard fan of the University of Arizona (U of A). For now, he hopes his college career goes smoothly.
